Catch gaps in SBA loan files
Missing documents and inconsistent borrower details send loan files back for rework. Bretton checks SBA eligibility evidence and documentation against your program requirements, then flags exceptions for the reviewer with the supporting sources attached.

What could you get back?
Estimate time returned from eligibility-document checks, cross-document reconciliation, and exception drafting. Exclude credit decisions and approval work retained by your lending team. This is not an estimate of loan revenue or guaranty protection.
Illustrative estimate based only on the assumptions you enter. It is not a guarantee of savings or performance.
Check every requirement
An SBA review depends on the program, loan structure, and rules applicable to the application. A credit memo alone can leave the underlying evidence unclear. Configure Bretton to reconcile the documents and surface the gaps, while your lender retains eligibility and credit judgment.
Set the program and review scope
Identify the SBA program, delivery method, loan purpose, and application stage. Confirm the applicable SOP and notices with your lending team before setting the assessment checklist.
Reconcile the borrower information
Bring together the application, ownership and affiliate information, existing debt, and supporting records. For a 7(a) file, reconcile the relevant SBA Form 1919 responses with the evidence in the file.
Check eligibility support
Assess the documentation supporting business eligibility, size and affiliation, intended use of proceeds, and other applicable program conditions. Flag unsupported conclusions for lender review rather than treating a checked box as proof.
Find documentation gaps
Compare the credit memo and checklist with available financial statements, tax information, debt schedules, and transaction documents where required. Surface missing, inconsistent, or unsigned items and identify the evidence needed to resolve them.
Deliver the exception assessment
Prepare a review-ready file linking each finding to its requirement and source document. The lender resolves exceptions and retains eligibility, credit, submission, and approval responsibilities under the applicable program.
Questions your team will ask
No. SBA SOP 50 10 separates common requirements from 7(a) and 504 program requirements, and delivery methods and transaction types can differ. Agree the program, scope, and applicable rules with your lending team before configuring the workflow. A 7(a) document requirement should not be applied automatically to a 504 file.
